Question: (1) DE Aaron Maybin seems kinda light in the butt for a 4-3 DE in the NFL? No question about his first step though. (2) CB/S Dominique (another one) Johnson is very intriguing, but he is supposedly a hothead and likes to talk back to his coaches?

I believe I have him listed as a OLB, not a DE. As Roy said, he maybe a guy you play at SAM on 1st and 2nd down, then allow him to move DE for nickle packages.

I think he would be fine at DE, run stopping is not his forte but I think he is quick enough to disrupt. Its just a tradeoff, would you prefer Tyson Jackson, an absolute brick wall in the running game or Maybin whose quickness can get pressure and disrupt run plays?
I like Maybin, personally. |

Kind of where I'm leaning also. I want the DE with the quickest first step and the speed to get into the backfield we can get. Bonus time would be if he can stuff the run, but as long as he isn't a total liability with the run, I can live with him as long as he can get to the QB quickly. Put him at RDE and Mario at LDE where, IMO he does his best anyway, and tell them "Go fetch".

There are some trade offs that are going to be considered. We aren't going to be able to have our cake and eat it too. If Brown is gone, as I suspect, I feel our next best combination of pass rush/run stuffing is Orakpo. He's not great at either, but sufficient at both. Maybin gives you a lot more pass rush, but you really pay for it against the run. Of course, he wouldn't be that big of a liability against the run as an OLB. However, as a DE, he would be. Lastly, Ayers may not be the pass rusher that Orakpo is, but he's better vs. the run.

I will admit, I have no clue what to do at 15 if they keep the pick.
