i don't understand what they are doing (actually i do, trying to save their own jobs). the season is lost as far as the playoffs are going, they need to have all the young guys in playing and getting significant reps so they have a base to build on going into next year.

We need to play young guys, but I think we only play them at the expense of guys who will likely not be here next year. Reeves will probably be starting for us next year, I don't think you bench him for Molden. And I am not sure where you come up with the 2 good games comment. He's been our best DB all season (I know faint praise, but still).

Where I want to see young guys is Adibi at LB (like we have seen the last two weeks. Beyond him I don't think we have any young guys I really want to see. If molden can't crack the 3 deep at CB on this roster what do we really need to see.

.........And next spring Kubiak will be saying he wished he had played Molden more! Seems it takes Kubiak a long time to realize what he has.

I've got just as high of hopes as anyone for Okam, and I would like to see him get more time. That being said, I can see why he isn't getting more playing time.He has made a few really nice plays, but he gets pushed around way too much for that position. I would prefer for him to get him plenty of reps now, but since I think the coaches (esp. smith) feel like they are fighting for their jobs right now they are going to go with the guys who are playing the best.

Really? If anything they rushed Jacoby into playing time. They had no problem naming Lundy the starter at RB, or getting slaton into the mix early. They played Bennett last year when he was playing well enough to deserve it.

Bennet has the most potential, but he hasn't played very well this year (nor has anyone else back there). I would like to see Molden play to get an idea of what we've got, but the coaches have watched him through training camp and at practice every week so I know they already have a decent idea.

They are going to go with the guys that give them the best chance to win. The veterans on the team are smart enough to know when a young guy is getting PT just for being young. And for the record, I am not a Kubiak hater, I think he is a hell of an offensive coach, I just think he falls in love with some players for certain reasons (faggins because he trys hard on every play and has a good attitude), and tends to keep giving them chances for too long. Reeves may end up being a decent cb for this team, but if he does, I think it will be at the nickle position.

And I would like to add to that Slaton didnt get to start until Green got hurt. Im just saying that im starting to question their judgement on how to handle young players playing time. It seems like times when they should be getting playing time they are just sitting on the bench. They should be getting in the games every opportunity they can when they arent detrimental the outcome. Its not like our D has been lights out and cant be improved.

...but he was getting carries. The running game has been most effective when Green's been able to contribute too.

and the passing game has been more effective when the QBs haven't turned over the ball. Unfortunately, neither your point or my point are a consistent staple of the offense. (sorry, i am a smart*ss)


For the record, I agree with you on Green, which is why I didn't include Slayton. I thoguht about including him, but I agree that when Green is healthy the offense clicks better. They need a compliment back to go with Slayton to keep him from wearing down. You can argue that Green was a mistake, but that is a completely seperate discussion.

I dissagree. IMO with an fresh Slayton this offense clicks better. We are definatly a more dangerous offense with Slaton.

You bolded the wrong part of Cadams' post. Right after what you bolded to disagree with, he says that Green's value is as a compliment to slaton to keep slaton fresh. Read the whole post next time and you may realize you don't actually disagree.

I think you guys are all right. Slaton is the man. He is helped out and performs best when Green can take some of the carries off his shoulders to keep him fresh. This should be a priority next year in the draft (I know...one of about a hundred we have). I hope we spend a 3rd/4th on a back who can be our short yardage/big back complement to slaton.
