No way do I give up a first for him. Any trade for him will include paying a giant contract extension for him. So you give up your first round pick for the right to pay $20 Million a year for a guy who has less history than Brock. The risk/reward tilts way too far in the wrong direction.

The main value of a rookie QB is they are cheap. Even a 1st round pick is about a quarter of a low end starter salary wise.

And yes Bob. I would have been happier if they tried to draft a QB and failed. Getting a great QB in this league is hard and usually involves a fair amount of luck. There is no shame in not having one. It is admirable to build a quality team without one. But it is beyond comprehension to let year after year pass without investing draft picks in the QB position.
