hey i saw this on another board so i thought i would share it just in case there is anybody here who doesn't know about the other board.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=090...o&confirm=true there is a video interview also of him and rich eisen that is worth watching. they talk about his injuries but he dismisses it, says the team turned a corner last year and hope to again this year. they also have a laugh about romo and simpson in cabo (that's where schaub's honeymoon was apparently) nothing degrading but since there are people laughing at cowboys I'M IN!!! AHHAHAHAHAAAaa

Eisen says we still have a problem with getting our QB hurt every year. True or not that is the perceived personna of this team.

yea, eisen pointed that out but schaub was quick to mention the sack numbers drastically changing among other things.
i guess that is still a lingering perception though anyone who watched or asked a fan would attest to schaub's toughness. i remember kubiak saying he had a bruise from hip to knee and that he could barely walk...that sunday i watched him play. concussion from a cheap shot, dislocated shoulder from a brutal hit where he landed funky. if he comes up this year and has another horde of problems that aren't freak occurances i'll say he's injury prone but until then.... at least his shoulder is doing better and thank everything it was his left shoulder so he can still practice flinging pigskins.

I remember seeing where the sacks that were attributed to the line were only around 12 or so.....the other 10 sacks were charged to the TE's or RB's. Of course I guess it's not good enough until the total is zero....but even that doesn't tell the whole story. How much time a QB has before he's forced to throw are just as important. A big reason for the drop in sacks last year was QB's who got rid of the ball like they were supposed too.
Even with that our line wasn't near as bad as many made it out to be last year. With the continued improvement of some of the young guys, an upgrade at center, and a young LT with a high ceiling....our offensive line might even turn into a strength of this team over the next couple of seasons. ![]()

Something I saw in another interview with Schaub on the official site, he was in Atlanta with Gibbs running the run offense, it appears he helped our players buy into Gibbs and his ways. That will also help the OL to become the strength of this team. |

i've been in a situation where a group of musicians merged with my group of musicians and their teacher was replacing our old teacher. so it did help to have people on our level helping us make the change of teachers/style of play and i can see where it would help to have schaub opening the door for the o'line to gibbs.
for schaub, say what you will about his injuries and such, but there is NO denying his dedication to this team. if nothing else, at least we're past mcglovin' and how i'm pretty sure nobody in the organization liked him by the time he was replaced.

The sack problem went to Carolina one year...since then we have been average. Carr took alot of sacks but Schaub probably took harder hits (while sacked less) since he has more courage in the pocket....as well as some bad luck. Hopefully he isn't the next Chris Chandler. All in all I'm fired up about the offense.

Well now, if Vinnie is startin to come around on our offense, we must be doing good things. Kinda makes ya wish the first game was tomorrow.

Not to derail this thread, but we do have some really nice guys on this team, I hope it translates with this new staff to wins, and I think it will. Part of being a team is getting along with each other, not being an individual and being accountable to one another (among many other things)
You don't need thugs and hoodlums to win games. I literally bumped into Fred Weary last weekend at a Kroger. He could not have been more cordial and friendly. We chatted a few minutes about his injury, football and BBQ techniques.

I want Schaub to be able to move around in the pocket a little better, to draw a little extra time when the WR hasn't finished his route, or he has to make an extra read, and the defense is closing in.

It's worth saying again: if the offense line blocks for the run better, and if the defensive line protects better against the run, the rest of the game will fall into place pretty easily. Easy to say but much harder to execute.
