Most everyone that has posted in this thread is admitting that things are grim. You will probably be proven correct but slim odds as they may be, it really is not over yet. For me, Keenum brings a new hope that wasn't there last week.... Last year, RG3 led the Skins from 3-6 to 10-6 (seven W's in a row) beating Philly and Dallas twice, the Giants and eventual SB champ Ravens along the way....

Texans need to go back to the 1-0 each week philosophy.....
Totally agree with your thoughts about what the attitude of the players should be, though I was speaking more from the perspective of a fan.
But I give you high-5s for being a believer, I can only HOPE you are right.

Eh, I guess I just don't get the defeatist attitude of a certain faction of our fanbase when a little adversity hits. Like the Iraqi army, they come running out of the trenches, arms straight up in the air waving white flags.....

OK since you put it that way, then let me put it to you this way: if you were placing a bet with your hard-earned money on the remainder of the Texans' season, would you put those bucks on the Texans making or not making the POs ? Right, just what I thought ! See there's a big difference in what we expect will happen and what we hope will happen.

What are the odds? 100 to 1? I'd put a $1 on the Texans.....

Did you see Solomon's article at Chron.com? He discusses the playoff chances:

Even with where the Texans are, a playoff season is possible. The website makenflplayoffs.com puts their chances at achieving that goal at 12.4 percent....................

Should the Texans go 9-0 the rest of the way, they would be a virtual lock to claim a playoff spot. Even if they lost only one game, they would have better than a 99 percent chance of qualifying for the postseason.

Two losses, and their mathematical chance drops to 84 percent.

Three losses? Forget about it.

Arky, you just made my point for me because you might as well have said you'd put one cent on the Texans. In other words you have so little confidence they get into post-season you want to minimize your risk in any bet that they will do so to practically zero.
Hey man, I'm with you on the hope thing but it's just not the same as my realistic expectations for the team over the remainder of the season.

Ah, you're one of those you-just-made-my-point-for-me guys. No, betting a $1 on 100 to 1 odds would be a decent value bet. Lose a $1 or win $100. I would take that bet if I knew Keenum was going to be the starting QB the rest of the season. Schaub, not so much. Cushing out is not good.

The point is and what started this whole spiel is people are going to be "using Texans and playoffs in the same sentence" until the Texans are no longer mathematically eligible. So, get used to it....
