Foster, your a class act, but this is a risk not worth taking, especially with no Leach helping you out.

Good Luck Brother.

Very small crowd today. Not sure if it makes it to a 1,000 people. Also, I am not real pleased with the new layout of the stands. The VIP tents have been moved to between the 30 yd lines. It will make the sight lines obstructed from either set of bleachers. But that did not matter today because they practiced on the far fields.

Because of the fields they used, it was harder to get a real look at details. Also the crowd was more subdued, that could be from the heat.

Not a lot of player notes to report today. I have to get myself back into football mode.

Toliver had a big play today working against the 1st team defense. Dorin Dickerson had a couple of good plays.

Yates is benefiting from the fact that Leinart cannot practice until Thursday, he was getting a lot of reps and coaching. I never saw him throw the ball downfield, just check off, but that is how most rookie do it.

Ward, Slaton and Tate all showed quickness.

A lot of time was spent walking throw things for the defense, my understanding they will not be up to full speed the entire practice until Thursday.

Lastly, when does the veteran punter get here? Hartmann struggled on most of his punts against the wind. Only had one very good punt all day. Holiday will have to earn a spot on this team as a WR and returner, we seemed to have a lot of guys working at fielding punts.

That rule has to be one of the most idiotic things to come out of this new CBA/lockout. If these guys have a signed contract, they should be able to practice.

He was not on the roster handed out this morning and he was not out there watching the guys work.

I've read he was signed but but did not see any sign of him.

All the other signed guys were out there with the team watching from the side.

According to the roster sheet we got this morning we have 86 guys.

Curious that he was not listed on the roster, but I wouldn't read terribly much into him not being there. He was just signed so they may have allowed him to head back home to wrap up anything he needed to wrap up before heading back here for good. All the other guys had a day or so to get their affairs in order either while negotiations were ongoing or after their deals were made before coming down here (or signed big enough deals that the Texans wanted them here immediately for PR purposes). We're talking about a punter. It's not like he needs to be here trying to integrate himself into a defense.
