Now I haven't watched my recording of the actual game again, but if he's playing guard or center (I don't remember ?), and he also plays poorly on the inside in the game then his rating would have to drop substantially from mid-round to a late-round prospect (or maybe project ?). |

I was not touting Beadles as an OT but an OG where at least by one site he is rated pretty high.

I'm going back through the Senior Bowl practices and I'll re-watch the actual game too. Beadles was lined up at RT and went against Alex Carrington and Brandon Graham. Taking a look at my prototypical OL, Arizona State's Shawn Lauvao who went up against Jared Odrick looked much better than Beadles. In fact, I've placed Lauvao on my draft board. Granted practices was mostly showcasing pass protection. I'll be paying closer attention to the run blocking of both Beadles and Lauvao.
In addition to adding Lauvao to my draft board, I've incorporated a couple of more players. CB Kevin Thomas from USC has the physical skills that I look for in a CB and would essentially be an Antwaun Molden type player (preferrable he'd be on the field and not the trainer's room). RB James Starks from Buffalo had good enough measurables that I feel comfortable taking a late round flyer on him. The LB from Minnesota Simoni Lawrence is the kind of athlete I'd like to have at the WILL. DT Earl Mitchell is another 3-Tech guy who could put some pressure on the QB and Amobi Okoye. OG Shelley Smith is an athletic OL that would fit into the ZBS, so I've added him to the list. Since Anthony Dixon had such dissapointing numbers, I've added Joique Bell who is as slow as Dixon. So, we shall see if either work out in the NFL. Another athletic ZBS guy is Joe Hawley from UNLV. He's comparable to J.D. Walton but should be available much later in the draft. In fact, if I were to make a list of OL who meet the measurables required for the ZBS, it would look like this: Pos---Name-------------Height--Weight---40----Reps--Vert---20-----10-----Jump---3-Cone--Shuttle--Explosion--Quick-----Athlete OL---Joe Hawley---------6'3"-----297----5.21----35----26----3.00---1.78 ----8.75----7.50----4.73-----69.75----14.01------4.98 OL---Shelley Smith -------6'3"-----300----5.03----26----34----2.93---1.74----9.25----7.67----4.71-----69.25----14.12------4.90 OL---Shawn Lauvao------6'3"-----315----5.22----33---26.5---3.00---1.80 ----8.42----7.56----4.51-----67.92----13.87------4.90 OL---Trent Williams-------6'5"-----315----4.88 ---23----34.5---2.81---1.70----9.42----7.64----4.63-----66.92----13.97------4.79 OL---Rodger Saffold------6'5"-----316----5.21----27---29.5----3.00---1.80----9.42---7.42----4.67------65.92---13.89------4.75 OL---Marshall Newhouse--6'3"-----326----4.99----25---25-----2.93----1.74---8.12----7.40----4.60-----58.12----13.74------4.23 OL---JD Walton----------6'3"-----305-----5.19---24----27-----2.93---1.80----8.42----7.60----4.69-----59.42----14.09------4.22

I do not know enough about Petrus. I know that his 40 was slow at 5.34 and his 10 yard split was slow at 1.85. He didn't run the Shuttle or Cone and he didn't jump a Vert or Broad, so I have more questions than answers. Currently he's projected at a 3rd round selection. I'd rather take a player that I have a better impression of that high. If he had a sub 5.1 in the 40 and a sub 1.78 in his 10, then I'd be more intrigued. The only measurable that he has that is impressive is the Bench and I attribute that to having short arms, which is a negative for an OL. He may be a good prospect, but I'm not willing to take a gamble on him when I know more about the other players.
