I just don't understand what they mean by "nickel corner" given the fact that he has (or should have) *at least* 3 guys in front of him. |

Molden is probably better suited to play on the edge at CB and is the guy to come in when Reeves or Bennett gets hurt. Quin has the skillset that makes him a better Nickle because of the types of players and routes he would face in the middle of the field. It basically comes down to philosophy of wanting the "best" players on the field vs. the players in their "best" positions that maximizes their strengths.

“Well, he’s made some plays out here the first couple of days. He’s gotten his hands on the ball a couple of times. We’re playing him at nickel, also; (defensive backs coach) David (Gibbs) tells me he’s very sharp in the meeting room. He can return some, too. So there’s plenty of reps to go around, especially with Dunta (Robinson) not being here. It’s moved all those guys up as far as reps go, so he’s taking advantage of it.” (on what he’s seen out of CB Glover Quin) “You know what, he’s made two big plays. I’ve seen him catch the ball. I like the way he moves around and whatnot. It’s still early, but he’s made a few big plays out there in our passing game.” (on if Quin could play safety) “There’s a possibility. We have plans for him on the edge right now. He’s going to do some stuff in the slot and nickel, but there’s always a possibility at safety. He’s built that way, anyway.” (on what physically sticks out about Quin) “Just his physical stature. He’s a big, thick, good-looking kid. He moves around well. From the tape, we know he’s not afraid to hit. So we’re encouraged by him.”

Sounds like he is fitting into the Jenkins-esque mold. Back-up nickel/back-up FS.
It either Dunta or Wilson get hurt, I think he'll be their back-up (Dunta in the slot at least.) |

Dunta has to figure out whether he is going to be a player or a smart ass guard house lawyer, greedy at that!

For someone I never heard of before the draft, I'm becoming rather fond of Mr. Quinn!
As for Mr. Robinson, if I were the Texans, I believe I would start threatening to pull our offer off the table, give his agent permission to shop him around the league, and see just what his value really is.
