I do not disagree with you logic. If we could draft Steve Hutchison in the first round, it would be worth it because of the impact it would have on the team. The real problem is, I'm not sure if Iupati is the next Hutch. The level of competion and the "system" he played in makes him a hard projection. Recalling last year, the team drafted Antoine Caldwell in the 3rd round, and he played in the SEC, and he had a difficult time getting snaps. I thought for sure, he'd be a starter the entire season. There is a definite need to draft interior OL, I would probably draft 2 just in case Pitts isn't healthy. I'm just not sure I jump in to the pool head first over Iupati. I'd love to take him in the 2nd round, I just don't know if the 'hype' will allow that to happen.
