Not sure how many of you read it, but I check out Paul Kuharsky's AFC South blog every now and then at, http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afcsouth
What got me kind of puzzled was a blurb that he posted from agent Drew Rosenhaus. "Via @RosenhausSports on Twitter, Drew Rosenhaus said Dominique Barber is a first team safety now: "Congrats to Texans safety Dom Barber who was recently promoted to the 1st team. Dom is the proto-type NFL strong safety." Did I miss something? This was posted as of today. I looked around the chronic, and the official site, but I didn't see anything. The official site hasn't updated its depth chart since July. I was under the impression that Ferguson was fairly entrenched in this spot..... Personally, if it's true, I think this is a great move. I like "sprinkling" in the new guys with the old guys. It should give us some stability long term. BUT, this could be an agent, being an agent..... Anyone heard anything? |

Yes, he began working with the first team more almost a week ago now.

I like it, Barber is going to be a good safety for a long time.

I knew Barber was working with the first team...but I didn't take it as a lock. It sounded more like a reward for some solid work by Barber with the chance to entrench himself as the starter.
...It would be nice if one of those late round safeties we always take finally pans out.
