Default Would you give Michael Huff a shot?

• Sources say Al Davis is willing to cut maligned Raiders S Michael Huff if he doesn’t show improvement in the near future. Huff, the team’s 2006 first-round pick (seventh overall), has been working at strong safety during OTAs and minicamps, and we hear he’s likely to be released if he doesn’t earn a starting spot. The 26-year-old has been a major disappointment and was demoted from the starting lineup to the bench midway through last season. He has yet to show signs of figuring things out this offseason.

Would you bring him in if he hits the market? Who would you cut to take a look see?

Yeah, definitely. What I have noticed about secondary players, and maybe players in general is that a change in scenery and scheme often results in the basis for that cliche of one man's trash is another's treasure.

I was high on Huff, yeah that sounds wierd, when he came out a couple of years ago. I would definitely give him a chance, and probably cut one of the backrunners for the safety position.

Going into camp we are allowed to have 80 players? I don't know that we have to make a drastic cut unless we are going to keep him on the roster.

Worth a shot. Safety is one of our weakest positions.

Hell, I'd offer up TJ for him.

One headache for another. Who knows, maybe it works out on both ends.
