Default DelJuan Robinson Story

Linky to the Chron

A feel good story and some background on why he is still wearing an OL number on his jersey.

This is the kind of thing that makes me root for guys.

That s an excellent story. Good for Del Juan. It is nice to know the stories of good guys like this and glad he's on our team.

Great story. Personally, I'd just as soon see Deljuan as the starter on opening day as Travis Johnson. Robinson seemed very productive in limited time last season and I want to see what he can do when really given a chance to prove himself.

Could move TJ to the back up spot if he plays as well as he did last year.

TJ absolutely SHOULD be the backup. Deljuan has done nothing but work hard since he got here, and he's definitely been a pleasant surprise on the field. Maybe losing his starting spot from the jump will light a fire under TJ, and we'll be able to rotate our DT's a lot, keep em fresh, without a dropoff in production. man would that be nice.

It's a moot point who the starters at DT are for me. I like "Temp 66", but our DT's should be rotated quite a bit anyway to keep them fresh in my opinion so who starts isn't crucial. Maybe not being a "starter" motivates TJ, and is a nice reward for Robinson's hard work. No matter how much people complain about players that have gotten on the fans bad side, they usually don't stay on the field for 3 years without a reason...even if the reason is that the players behind them aren't any good.

Sounds like TJ is finally back in practice and Okam is playing harder as well, plus we got Shaun Cody , then Okoye and Antonio are supposed to be very good, so maybe we will have a very good DT rotation, fresh, fired up, stop the run and put heat on the passers. Good for preseasson wishing anyways.

Why do I not find that comforting?

Well, you could say Weaver was a joke at DE and TJ was only marginally better. Then Okoye had his ankle problem, so that left only Mario as the only true performer on that DL last year. Add in Richard Smith's read and react defenses, and you can start to see why we were so bad. I am really looking forward to Bushs' new defensive schemes, and different personnel on the left side of the line.
