Per the Chronicle, Petey Faggins signed a 2 year deal with the Titans. I would be drooling if I saw him lined up opposite Andre.
Good luck Petey. I think he would have a hard time making this team.

Good bye to a really nice guy, and hard worker. He was a guy people wanted to cheer for.
Plus he is an above average special teamer still.

Yeah, I think the gut reaction for most fans is to cheer this move, but Faggins had interest from the Dolphins and Browns this offseason, too. How often have we seen other Texans DBs we thought were nothing special (or worse) thanks to a lack of pass rush and/or scheme go on to find some amount of success elsewhere? Marlon McCree, Von Hutchins, Lewis Sanderson, P-Bust, ...
Petey was burned bad by Lee Evans and Calvin Johnson. The speedy ones always gave him trouble, but in a decent scheme on a good defense, Petey could be an effective backup corner. An original Texan for a late round pick... one of the best values the team has had. That said, I think I'd like to see him cover Andre Davis deep. Or Andre Johnson anywhere. Twice per season. |

Petey is a really good guy. We had seemed to run into each other over the past couple of years at the grocery store and a few local eateries. He was always cordial, smiling and super nice. He loved to talk about football and he always had his little baby with him and his wife.
I saw him about 2 weeks ago and he did not seem to think he would be back with the Texans. I wish he went somewhere other than TN. I'll always cheer for a guy who was on the practice squad, almost cut, got his chance and has made a career for himself.
