Glad to see this one.
From PFT: DANIELS GETS HIGHEST POSSIBLE TENDER Posted by Mike Florio on 2/26/09, 11:45 a.m. The Houston Texans have a very good tight end.**** And they know it. So, with Owen Daniels ready to become a restricted free agent, the Texans has tendered to him a one-year contract that will require the highest possible compensation, if he receives an offer elsewhere that the Texans choose not to match. According to Adam Caplan of Scout.com, the Texans issued a one-year, $2.792 million contract offer to Daniels. If Daniels switches teams, the new team will have to give the Texans a first-round pick and a third-round pick in the 2009 draft. |

Hopefully this will just lead to a long term contract. I am excited about free agency, but I want to see them start locking down our big contributers sooner rather than later.

no surprise here. He definitely earned the high tender. I just hope we can lock him up long-term.
