Default McDaniels to Denver

Reports coming in that the Broncos have hired Josh McDaniels to be their next head coach. I really like this signing I think he is one of the bright minds of the game at the moment and Its going to be really intresting to see what he does with the offensive weapons he has in Denver with Cutler and Marshall, its also going to be intresting to see how the Patriots respond without him especially in the mists of what could be a slight Quarterback contraversy.

I am a Patriots fan and even I am suprised that guys are still getting jobs based on being NE assistants. It didn't work out too well when Crenell, Mangini, and Weiss went out on their own after all. But I guess Denver thinks 32 year old McDaniels will break the mold and be a better coach than Mike Shanahan.

They should have just taken away Shanahan's personnell role and gave him a good GM who could pick a defensive player.

Mike Nolan is reported to be on board as defensive coordinator, perhaps a more important job given Denver's situation.

That will likely make a much quicker difference than the HC change will.

Perhaps that's exactly what Bowlen wanted to do and Shanahan didn't like it so they parted ways.
