Default The Dallas Glitterboys

Quote:
“The Cowboys have never been about checkered tablecloths and boots and hats,” [Jerry] Jones said. “They’ve been about glitz and glitter. Leave the other stuff to the Houston Texans.”
Chronicle

A couple fairly obvious comments:
1. He wants his football team to be "about glitz and glitter"?
2. The owner of a team named the Cowboys is denegrating cowboy boots and cowboy hats? What's next -- the Rooney family ripping steelworkers? I guess we shouldn't be surprised, though -- I remember reading once that many in Dallas originally hated the "Cowboys" name because is was "too Fort Worth."

Huh, and here I thought it was just Troy Aikman that was into glitter.

Jerry Jones should just go ahead and legally change his name to Mary Jones. I mean, she wants her franchise to be known as glitter and glitz right? Well, it always starts at the top.

Now if I'm a cowboy fan, either a homosexual or heterosexual, this is just giving me the green flag to dress up every Sunday like it's Mardi Gras...but the gay version.

It's almost a challenge for every cowboy fan to see who can have the most outlandish Liberace/Elton John style costume. I think there should be a contest in Dallath between heterosexuals and the other team to se who can thizzle it up the most.

Can't you just hear the conversations? And remember, every "s" is actually made with the sound of a "th".

The Dallath Cowboythhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Glitz and glitter" ? Oh, you mean like "cheap and shallow", right Jerry ?
Jerry definitely seems to have a tin ear when it comes to class & style,
but afterall he's just a hick from Arkansas. (Sorry Arky)

"OH, GLITZ!!!!!!!"

i guess jessica simpson is the glamour. she's got a nice photoshoppable body and all, but i just can't imagine how sticky she is. people don't reflect that much light. normally...

That quote from Jerry did nothing but remind me of why I don't like Dallas. It's full of snooty yuppies and people who spent too much time watching the show Dallas....and a bunch of Okies, and at least one hick from Arkansas as nunusguy pointed out.

Do you think he realizes how ridiculous this quote was? I had a thought the other day. I was pretty sure I was right. This sealed it. When Al Davis is finally dead, Jerry Jones will be right there to fill the crazy void. Give him a few more years for the senility to set in, and he'll ruin what he had rebuilt into a proud franchise. I don't know if he'll wear a tracksuit, but whatever he wears will be glitzy.

[QUOTE=Warren;4265]Chronicle

I wonder if by "glitz and glitter" he means

1) PacRats gold chains and grille?
or
2) Tank Johnsons gun collection?
or
3) Michael Irvins Bongpipe?
or
4) TO's shiny cheeks when he cries about Romo?

Eh, no problem. I think Jerry Jones was actually born in Los Angeles so they should be accountable, too....

Glitz and glitter obviously includes a shiny new suburban stadium that looks like it should be the headquarters for McDonald's.

Yeah, but can it withstand hurricane force winds and lose only about half the roof?

no but i've heard....

....that it would be easier to make a miniature model of the stadium, teach a team of ants how to play football, paint little stars on their heads, put a tear on ant-T.O. so he'll feel specialer, put a little pink 9 for ant-jessica stickson, find the oldest ant and stick him in the press box so he can smack talk a team that shouldn't worry him in the least......

A-nt F-ootball C-onference AFC, get it?
