The 2-2 Texans will host the 4-0 Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday night in a nationally televised game. The Texans are coming off a 57-14 home win vs. the Tennessee Titans and the Chiefs are coming off a 29-20 home win over the Washington Redskins on MNF. The Chief's defense has a good pass rush and they are 10th in pts allowed with 19.2/game. Though the Chiefs allow 274.2 passing yards/game (25th), they get stingy in the red zone. This may be another game where the Texans might be better served to go to the pass more than the run.......

Both teams have taken turns manhandling each other in recent contests. Texans will need to establish the run early and stop those screens and passes in the flat that Reid loves to pummel us with. We also need Hal to come up big against Kelce.
Would thoroughly enjoy it if somebody came up to Andy Reid and thanked him for taking "that kid from Texas Tech" in the draft instead of Watson. |

Found these trends posted in another forum:

ATS = against the spread Not good. About the only positive thing to say here is that the data wasn't assembled in the Deshaun Watson "era"..... |

I distinctly remember home wins over both the Colts (during the Manning era) and the Patriots where I doubt we were favorites. Not sure this tout has his facts together.

I remember those games but who ya talking about? Which tout, which trend?
Even so, I'd be very reluctant to bet the house on KC........ |

Those are meaningless trends. I bet most of those go back to before O'Brien was here. Football plays such few games that every trend is either small sample size from a data perspective, or it has to go so far back to get a decent sample size that the data is meaningless. Or both.
I guarantee if Houston loses it won't have anything to do with whether Houston ran for over 150 yards last week. Basically the giant amount of money bet on football leads to artificial data mining and 'trends' so you can have something to offer as a prognosticator. |

I see the manic-depressive Jags won today. The Titans are falling down the rabbit hole. Indy beat the 49ers in OT. Astros lost.
The good news is John McClain picked KC to win tonights game so there's a chance...... Kickoff in a few..... |

Right when we learn to score we lose two of our best defenders (probably for the year).
I guess we'll always have last week. |
