Default Official Texans vs. Jaguars Game Thread, 9/10/2017

The Houston Texans will open the 2017 season at home vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars. There is a monster heading towards Florida so the Jags will be fortunate to be away from that area on Sunday. It does not look good for the state of Florida.

Houston is dealing with the aftermath of their own little monster but the show will go on. The Tom Savage era is about to begin. Let's see how long it lasts....

------------------------------------------------------

TV = CBS (channel 11 local), noon CST, Sunday, 9/10/17

Announcers = Andrew Catalon, James Lofton

The line = Texans by 5.5 to 6

-------------------------------------------------------

Other Sunday viewing in the Houston area:

FOX (late) - Seattle @ Green Bay, Joe Buck, Troy Aikman

--------------------------------------------------------

Prime time:

TNF = Kansas City @ New England (NBC)

SNF = NY Giants @ Dallas (NBC)

MNF = New Orleans @ Minnesota (7:00 ET); LA Chargers @ Denver (10:20 ET) (ESPN)

How long does O'Brien go with Savage before we see Watson? (Could Watson become a "change-tempo" QB who plays one drive each half?) Will the WRs be healthy enough to open up the passing game?

What will we see from Watt and Clowney on the field together? Will Crenel line them up on the same side or opposite sides?

Will either appear in goal line sets? Will we be close enough to the goal line to run a goal line set?

Will Crenel figure a way to keep us from chasing backs on swing patterns all day?

Will Carebear shank a FG or extra point now that he's won the kicking job?

If the Texans look sharp after only three exhibition games, will it lead a movement to reduce the number of pre-season games?

Will the Texans reach 8 wins and is there anyone else in the division who can post eight wins?

The answers start Sunday.

I'm very interested in the OL and the defensive secondary. Also interested to see what sort of bullshit BOB does in the red zone.

Hoping Savage does not turn the freaking ball over.

Unless what we are seeing is totally non representative of what will come, this team is going to win three or four games and will watch the Browns pick third and then thirty fifth or whatever because the unfireable lapdog Rick Smith has fked this roster up into depths of suck previously unimaginable.
