Some day 4 info, second day in pads, in the bubble today.
http://www.click2houston.com/sports/...ing-camp-day-4

Sounds like Fido might be learning how to be a receiver, not just a blocking TE.

After watching some LB Brian Peters highlights, and reading about how bad our TE situation currently, I think we should maybe give him some reps at TE. He looks like he has great hands, is very physical, and has good size at 6'4" 250.

Yeah, sounds like TE is a big question right now.

A few thoughts from Sunday, day 7 practice.

So, where do the Texans get their talent? Besides using the draft, signing UDFA's, FA's and other means, currently, with the expanded roster, the leading schools are:

Michigan State (4): ILB Max Bullough, S Kurtis Drummond, DE Joel Heath, WR Keith Mumphery

Oregon (4): CB Terrance Mitchell, T Matt Pierson, SAF Eddie Pleasant, OLB Tony Washington Jr.

Arizona State (3): DB Robert Nelson, QB Brock Osweiler, WR Jaelen Strong

Clemson (3): C Dalton Freeman, WR DeAndre Hopkins, DT D.J. Reader

Miami (3): RB Lamar Miller, DT Vince Wilfork, DE Ufomba Kamalu

South Carolina (3): DB Antonio Allen, LB Jadeveon Clowney, CB Johnathan Joseph

Many schools with 2 representatives. Oddly, just six Texas schools on the expanded roster and two of those are from Texas-El Paso (FS Quentin Demps, TE Eric Tomlinson)

Things have changed since the Colorado State pipeline days.....

The Texans are having troubles at TE? You don't say! I seem to recall someone bringing that up around draft time and being told how it wasn't a priority.

Hopefully we are usually getting best player at our draft number, but does seem we target certain positions.

For TE, the UDFA Steve Anderson, seems to be a little undersized but catching well. Both Fido and Griffin seem to be healthy and working on pass catching, so we shall see. Seems RB and WR were the priority, so maybe that and new QB will help overall offense.

First look this coming up Sunday.

For Monday, camp day 8, some updates.

This covers lots of nicks, health updates.

Practice day 9, tuesday, Aug 9
Wed. Day off
Thurs. Fly to San Fran, and closed practice
Friday joint practice
Sunday first preseason game 6 pm on ABC 13

Randy Moss was at practice today to chat with DE Andre. Moss played at New England when Obrien there. Second leading receiver ever.

http://m.chron.com/sports/texans/art...-9-9132107.php

And from Texans
http://m.houstontexans.com/news/arti...d-d43ea0b33958

Saw early unofficial depth chart out.

Listened to some of Sirius radio today, all the usual suspects.
They did talk to the NFL superbowl action committee.

Furthermore,

Video - Texas Training Camp Today: Tuesday TRT = 8:35

Would have liked to be a fly on the wall when Randy Moss spoke to the team..... Had Hard Knocks been here, they surely would've covered it....

Thurs Aug 18, joint workout in pads with Saints

See Texans will play on synthetic turf this year as used by about one-third of league now.

Nice thing about all these reviews is they put a different emphasis on what they cover each day.
