Baseball Hall of Fame
2015 vote coming in a couple days. Craig Biggio just missed the honor last year by two votes, so hopefully he gets enough of them this year.
It is an interesting time to observe the voting. Quite a backlog of 80s and 90s stars not in yet, and the PED controversies cloud the considerations even further. Stinks, but the Hall should still have guys like Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, and Jeff Bagwell in it. For the record, I'd have Pete Rose in too, so there. Hate away. There's a HoF tracker keeping tabs on public votes, and it looks like there could be as many as five players in this year (Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz, Mike Piazza, and Biggio), which is a lot for HoF historians. If this holds, Bagwell gets a nice bump this year, too, so maybe his induction won't be too far off either. Who's on your ballot? I'd give votes for Bagwell, Biggio, Bonds, Clemens, RJohnson, PMartinez, Piazza, and Tim Raines. |

Yes, fantastic news for Houston baseball. There is a party planned for Friday at Union Station at 5pm for those interested.
I think Bagwell has a window over the next two votes to get in, probably 2017 being his best shot. Piazza and Griffey are in next year I think, with Bagwell and Raines very close. |
