A huge swath of America is getting this game, too. Although if the Jets and Bills are playing in 30 feet of snow, I might prefer to watch that,

What's the logic on us getting Arizona @ Seattle and not Detroit @ NE in the Fox contest ? I'm not necessarily complaining, I'm just curious how they arrive at some of these decisions about which game to telecast in a given metro or area ? Those are both attractive games, but the game that features the only AFC team (and very possibly the top seed in the AFC playoffs) in the two contests is not being telecast, and yet we are of course an AFC team ourselves which at this time still has some hope of making post season.

Houston may be an "AFC city" but Fox is the "NFC network". Usually, the network tells each affiliate what game they are getting but an affiliate will, at times, get permission to be switched to another game they perceive will draw better ratings, sometimes because of college ties or because of divisional rivalries.
I've noticed whenever Fox is sending a game to the DFW market, they will send them a game involving an NFC East team if they can't show the Cowboys. But logic doesn't always seem to win out and you have excellent points. All I can tell you is the suits at Fox thought the SB champs versus the top NFC team this year was more attractive to local viewers than the Patriots and Lions and the local Fox affiliate did nothing to protest it. |

May the ghost of T.J. Yates be with Mallett today. The weather forecast calls for Blue skies but the Bagels hope to counter with Green fields.
