Uruguay is going to get their best player suspended for biting an Italian player. For the major powers like Brazil and Italy, getting bounced in the first round is like a national tragedy.

Seems Team USA did good enough to back into the knockout round of 16.

From now on all games have a winner and are sudden death as I understand it.

Next game is against Belgium at 3 PM EST on Tuesday, July 1.

Nice to see our native Nacogodoches Texan Clint Dempsey - 2 goals and team captain, doing really well ; along with Brad Davis midfielder for Dynamo.

World Cup Finals are Sunday, July 13. My guess perhaps Netherlands vs Brazil, but could be any of 16 remaining teams.
