Gary Kubiak has been hired by the Baltimore Ravens to be the new OC. I wonder if he'll impose the zone blocking and dump routes he did in Houston or if Harbaugh will still run the offense.

Looks like Kubiak's keeping the old gang together -- Dennison will coach QBs, Pariani TEs, and Chick Harris is rumored for RBs.
Out of curiosity, I did a quick search to see where the members of the former staff have landed: HC Gary Kubiak -- Ravens OC OC Rick Dennison -- Ravens QBs QBs Karl Dorrell -- Vanderbilt OC RBs Chick Harris -- ??, possibly Ravens RBs WRs Larry Kirksey -- ?? AWRs Marc Lubick -- ?? TEs Brian Pariani -- Ravens TEs OL John Benton -- Dolphins Ast OL Ast OL Jim Ryan -- ?? Off Ast Dan Hammerschmidt -- UH RBs DC Wade Phillips -- ?? DL Bill Kollar -- retained LBs Reggie Herring -- Bears LBs Ast LBs Bobby King -- ?? DBs Vance Joseph -- Bengals DBs Ast DBs Perry Carter -- ?? ST Joe Marciano -- ?? Ast ST Bob Ligashesky -- retained |

It will be interesting to see how the Ravens do under Kubiak's offensive scheme. Talent-wise, the Ravens and Texans are very similar with the only big difference being Flacco. So, is Kubiak's system outdated and the league has caught up with it or did we just really suck? Probably a little of both, but it will be interesting to see.

The Baltimore Tex…Ravens are also looking for a WR coach, and Kirksey has been mentioned for that.
Here’s some more about the Kubiak hiring. Kind of interesting – the Ravens had called Dennison to get his thoughts on Kyle Shanahan. He told them they should look at Kubiak, who hadn’t been considering OC positions up until that point. |
