"I won three batting titles, one MVP, two AL championships and one world's championship while making the Hall of Fame on the first ballot but all anyone ever remembers about me is that I went nuts at the end of a Pine Tar Game."
- George Brett. It's not fair but Matt Schaub's new national identity is as the guy who got kicked in the nuts during a Thanksgiving game on national television. This the week after tying the NFL's second-best all-time passing yardage performance. The only way to overcome that stigma, I figure, is to win two Super Bowls. Win two and your name gets mentioned with the all-time best, right Eli Manning? Win one, like Joe Theismann, and you're still remembered as the guy whose leg snapped under the weight of Lawrence Taylor on national television. Or you become a trivia question like Brad Johnson or Trent Dilfer. Nope. The pressure is squarely on Schaub now. He's gotta get two Super Bowl rings or forever be the guy wincing in pain at the end of Donkey Kong's well-placed toe. It's not fair but, as Jimmy Carter reminds us, "life is unfair." |

Two or more superbowls is a nice thought. It is possible with this team.

That's what I'm thinking. We truly got an early Christmas present on Thanksgiving in Detroit, and the other OT with the Jags could have gone either way, obviously. In other words we could very easily be 8-3, certainly 9-2 right now instead of 10-1. And any and all of these 3 road games coming up is going to be a challenge. Let's just take them one at a time including the one in Nashville this weekend.
