Very conflicting reports here lately on AJ's status. Some say he's progressing well, this implies it could be longer then we thought. I think it's really in the middle somewhere, so I highly doubt he plays this week against Possum Holler.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...s-at-the-most/ Might be a good time to call the Raiders, who essentially have zero picks next year, within the next few hours and try to pry Moore, Ford or Bey from them. Would have been nice to get Lloyd for virtually nothing like the Rams did. |

I heard the interview this morning, and that is not how it was said. The doctors told him that the recovery for something like this is "usually around" 6 weeks, but he was sure he would be back before that.

I'm sure (I HOPE) it will be less, but if this team is in a 'win now' mode, they should have done something more than Mason. If they don't and this season gets out of hand, it just shows what total boobs they are. I would have gladly shipped a 5th to Denver for Lloyd to hold me over and then have one deadly combo when AJ got back.

@LanceZierlein: Just got off phone w/ NFL personnel man & asked why he thought Texans didn't trade for B. Lloyd.. "Probably because he's a f**king psycho" @LanceZierlein: "The guy has had issues everywhere he's gone.... he isn't what fans think he is." #brandonlloyd

Yeah, I wonder if people who kept clamoring about Brandon Lloyd actually know WHY it's taken him so long to "bust out".
He's an unpredictable, maniacal, cancerous piece of shit. |

Yet his old head coach and current OC apparently wanted him.

That seems like an accurate analysis.

He might be a POS, but he's a better than any of our current WRs not named Andre Johnson and would have made our #1 and #2 tandem comparable or better than any in the league - this year. I wasn't saying sign him to a long-term deal, just get him this year to hold us over while AJ is out and possibly win a division and make a deep run in the playoffs. If Kubiak and the leaders on this team couldn't have handled him for a few months, then you either cut his ass or find new leadership. BTW, I hear the same thing about Mason but they were willing to take him on. Mason for a 7th or Llyod for possibly a 5th or 6th? Both jerks, but one gives the team virtually nothing to what they already have while the other gives the team a major upgrade.

I don't know what Brandon Lloyd you have watched, but the guy averaged 338 yards per season his first 7 years, never reaching 800. Last year he broke out with 1400. Iin the 3 previous years combined he played juts 21 games and had less than 500 yards total. And it is not like he was behind big time WRs all those years. He just wasn't very good.
So he has 1 big year in a Josh McDaniels offense, one decent year (733 yds) for SF in 2005, looked average this year, and stunk the other 7 years. So basically we should take on a guy with huge baggage and attitude issues who does not know our offense because he has 1 good season in 10? There is a reason why nobody else but McDaniels traded for him either. Plenty of teams are WR starved but none made the deal. Not to mention if STL gave a 5th it would take a 4th from us since they will be drafting well ahead of us in the draft. I am very glad we passed. Sign/draft a guy in the offseason. Don't panic midseason when midseason guys never do anything anyways. |
