well, this is a gamble in my view to use Trindon Holiday for anything.
I know he has world class speed, but.. hope this works well. Anyways, letting Daniel Manning and Jacoby Jones focus on their primary jobs sort of makes sense. |

Holiday has been beyond worthless so far and at least JJ took one to the house against Indy. Certainly they aren't expecting JJ to teach Mason the playbook because I don't think JJ knows it.

I don't think he can suck any more than JJ not unless he muffs them... we'll see

I would love to see him have success in a Darren Sproles kinda way.... I'll be rooting for him but a muff or two and he'll be in Kube's doghouse (or worse) really fast... |

This is turning into another disappointing and possibly disastrous season but at least it is going to be interesting.

I just hope the coaches teach and instruct this kid....oh crap...it's Kubiak and Marciano we talking about here... I just hope the kid is smart enough to know when to run the kickoff out and when not to. The interesting thing about it is he has the speed to at least get farther up field than Manning could as long as he's decisive and runs forward. I'd be surprised if he's returning punts, but again, as long as he can catch and is decisive, he can't be any worse than JJ and his stupid stutter stepping. Besides, who doesn't watch JJ and fear the worst every time he catches a punt and starts running.

I kinda like this move in the Baltimore game because it's probably an "everything to win, nothing to lose" type of contest from the perspective of the Texans. If Holliday fumbles the ball on our own 6 yard-line and the Ravens pick up a cheap score, hey we were expected to lose anyway. On the other hand if he plays well, he's "broken the ice" in a RS NFL game and may then be prepared to make a serous contribution in the Titans game ?
BTW I was listening to Charlie P. on 790 yesterday and he had a Baltimore columnist/blogger on who said the Ravens have some injures to key players who were still not ready for Sundays game even after a bye-week. So we aren't the only team in this game who's banged-up. Still it's a definite long-shot, but if we go in there to Baltimore loosey-goosy, who knows ? |

Curious move for sure. Biggest issue I see is whether or not he can hang on to the ball.....was an issue his first year, though I don't remember it being an issue in preseason.
Definitely sends a strong message to JJ. Hope it works.
