Default Maccagnan Promoted

Quote:

The Texans have promoted Mike Maccagnan to director of college scouting.
Maccagnan was assistant director of college scouting. He replaces Dale Strahm, who’ll become a national scout. Strahm has been with the organization for six years.
Maccagnan began his scouting career with the Washington Redskins. Former Redskins and Texans general manager Charley Casserly hired him in 2000 as a pro scout and promoted him the same year to coordinator of college scouting. Maccagnan is one of the few holdovers from the Texans’ original personnel department put together by Casserly, who was replaced as general manager by Rick Smith in 2006.

I have to agree, I wish they would go talk to Alonso Highsmith or someone else from Green Bay or someone from the Ravens. Those teams always seem to draft well.

But a Casserly holdover? The Texans have only had one above average for his draft position defensive pick in their history, why not change.

I'm elated to hear they're aiming high and rewarding past performance. That's why the Texans are a playoff team year in and year out.

Which is the one with the fetish for tight ends who can't block?
