Default Texans to get a 7th-round pick for Dunta Robinson Deal

Talk about a hose job......I was thinking it would be worth at least a 5th, hoping for a 4th, and we get "Mr. Irrelevant"? WTF....

From the Chronic:
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...t/7491613.html

The Texans found out today that they will receive a seventh-round compensatory pick in next month's NFL draft.

A lot of fans were hoping the team would get a third-round pick after losing cornerback Dunta Robinson to Atlanta and having the worst pass defense in the NFL.

Obviously, the league disagreed.

The selection will be the last compensatory pick, which means the Texans will take a player widely referred to as "Mr. Irrelevant."

Yep, that explains it pretty well. That damn compensatory "formula" is pretty screwy, but I forgot about adding Smith and Rackers as starters.....

I frequent Burge's site, he writes some pretty good stuff.

Makes sense, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

I wonder if we would have kept Mr. Shanksalot, if we coulda got a decent pick out of it?

Oh well, 3 options for #253 - Punter (please) or a Purdue, CO State, or a TE that's a "good kid"......

Side note - Funny how the Chronic continually screws up accurate news. Jabba McClain needs to hang'em up.

I vote for "TE that's a good kid". Why mess with success?
