Here is the break down of the Texans by NFL.com. As you can see the writter had some knowledge but there a few thing that stand out and ask if the guy did more than 5 mins of research. All in all I give it a B-. Nothing here we havnt seen or heard before except the few things below.

AJ. No. I think our recieving corps stepped up and did a phenominal job. Granted none are the talent that AJ is, but there are only a few recievers in the NFL that are even close to him. Quote:

anytime I see something like Glenn Earl at CB I automatically throw everything else out the window. The only other reason I keep reading is to see what other non-sense is in there.
I've seen a few good ones this offseason. A raiders blog listing us as a place where Lamont Jordan might end up because all we have at running back is Green, Vonta Leach, and Echimandu (who was on the raiders roster at the time). I saw a fantasy breakdown of our receiving corps that listed AJ, Davis, and Tim Carter as our WR. I called the blogger out on it and he did respond that Carter was meant as a joke, and that Walter was going to be included on his sleeper list but it makes you wonder. It's one thing when a blogger who does it for free in his spare time and makes a mistake....but when all you to have to do is type in web address or the players name in a search engine mistakes like that are pretty bad. Part time bloggers are one thing, but when a national media source makes mistakes like that it just irritates me. They have no excuse. they can have a different opinion on players than me, but to not get simple things like what position they play right is ridiculous.

They have corrected it to say Demarcus Faggins instead of Earl....so at least someone is proof reading.

To bad that article was posted 2 days ago, and I just linked it today. Maybe they use ITB as a research site instead of real research..? |

Demarcus Faggins ain't gonna be our starting CB. He will be lucky to make the team, which I doubt.

I would say that I will be pretty shocked if he doesn't make the team....at least as it stands right now, and not because I have a really high value of his play. It's just a numbers game. Bennett, Fred Faggins, Demarcus Fletcher, Jamar Molden, Antwaun Reeves, Jacques Roberson, Derrick Robinson, Dunta Williams, Jimmy That's all the CB's on the roster right now. Bennet. Reeves, Molden, and Robinson are locks in my opinion. At least for the first few weeks of the season we can expect to have one more spot open while Dunta finishes up rehab. Fletcher should be able to beat out Faggins, but he didn't exactly blow me away last year either. Other than that it's Roberson and Williams competing with Faggins. I remember Kubiak saying some good things about Williams last year. It's not inconceivable that Faggins wins that battle though. I would prefer for one of those guys to come out of nowhere and blow everyone away at camp, but I don't think you can say that it's likely at this point. In the past we've always had guys like Jason Simmons and Hutchins who could play both Safety and Corner. They are gone, but I think one of the Brandon's played a little corner in college....although I've never heard anything about him playing CB at this level.

I think for Faggins it comes down to a few things. Is Moulden ready to play nickle out of TC. Does Fletcher have a better showing than him, and who is the better ST player. I think Faggins makes the team again as the #3 and finds himself last on the chart at the seasons end.
That in its self is exciting to see one of our starting CB's last year end up last in depth this year. Can you smell progress. It is generally agreed that Faggins is a good nickle back, just not a good #2. The coaches really like him, and I think I remember an interview wtih the DB coach talking about him comming back this year with his confidence he lost during week 2 last year. Dont forget that he has played some decent football for us prior to last year. |
