Cutler is reasonable, but I can't think of a single great QB who is as hot-headed as Rivers. And McGee is just as bad.

Great QBs are almost all noted for their cool head on the field. Unflappable is the most common word used. You just can't have your field general worried more about showing up a defensive player than he is about winning football games.

I just saw John Clayton to an inside the huddle segment on ESPN Sportscenter, and he said teh reason that Childress has been after Rosenfels is his consistency.

It was at this point that I sharted myself.

I have to admit, I hated Rivers when he first came into the league because of his hot-headness. I thought he'd fail miserably. However, over the last two years he seems to have calmed down and I'd take him over Cutler now. Rivers actually looks to be growing into a leader and someone who could carry his team, whereas, Cutler looks to be just a gunner who thinks more highly of himself than others do.

He consistently made me say the F-Word . Seriously though, I think Sage is a great fit for Minny. I think he'll do well there. I never had anything against Rosey (until the chopper game) other than he would never be more than a decent QB...if he could cut down on the silly int's. Schaub has the potential to be a much better QB. I don't know if he'll ever live up to his potential completely, but what you see is all your ever going to get from Rosey.

Its been confirmed, Sage is a Viking, for a 4th.

according to rotoworld.com

Sage Rosenfels-QB- Vikings Feb. 27 - 8:28 am et

Scout.com's Adam Caplan has confirmed that the Vikings acquired Sage Rosenfels from the Texans for a fourth-round pick. Rosenfels signed a three-year, $9 million contract with Minnesota.

Minnesota nicely upgrades their quarterback position cheaply. The contract is so reasonable we could see Minnesota adding another free agent or draft pick to the mix. Rosenfels, however, looks like the heavy favorite to start for now and should put up workmanlike stats on the run-first team.

Rick's been working this deal for a long time. Way to make it happen.

Default Finalized

I seen it on BRB and on ESPN Texans news page that the Sage deal is a done thing. Sage got a 2 yr $9M contract from the Vikes which indicates to me that he will be able to compete for the starte QB spot. The Texans as rumored got the 4th rounder from the Vikes, so my question is what does Smithiak do with the newly aquired pick. I know Smithiak have in the past been able to find good talent in the middle rounds so I am not worried about it, they've shown to know what they're doing in the draft. Just excited to see how everything goes in April.

I went to the Texans site and they confirmed that Rosenfels' agent really is named "Rick Smith" (they added "no relation to Texans' GM Rick Smith") - how freaky is that? - but even the official site won't confirm what we got in return which makes me wonder if this is for less than is being reported. Like a conditional draft pick or maybe it's for 2010 instead of this April.

NFL.com's transactions page has it for a 4th round pick. Considering the official league page doesn't have many of the reported deals (as they probably aren't finalized yet) I think this one's done. Granted, it doesn't say what year, but at the same time I'm pretty sure the transactions page notes future years if I remember correctly.

If Scaub gets hurt yet again this year, the loss of Sage may become a lot less amusing!
