Default Practice Squad fodder?

Since the season finished a few guys from the practice squad where added to the expanded off season roster:
Alex Brink QB
AJ Davis CB
Mark Simmons WR
Adam Stenavich OT

This means a few guys that had showed a least some promise where released:
DE Dan Bazuin
DT Gabe Long
OG Anthony Oakley
RB Darius Walker

What is the status of the guys that where released? Are they URFA? If so that would mean Anthony Alridge is now a FA because he does not appear on Denver's roster.

I know I am disappointed guys like Long and Bazuin were not given another training camp, or at least a shot during OTA and minicamp.

Are there any former Practice Squad guys you wish we would bring in?

Those guys are free agents and can sign with whatever team they can strike a deal with, if they haven't already.

My guess is the team feels like they've had an adequate opportunity to see those guys already and would rather give some other players an up-close look. A while back I compared the number of players who were on the practice squad and roster in the first couple years of the Kubiak/Smith regime to the last couple years under Capers/Casserly and found the current guys were much more active in turning over those practice squad and bottom-of-the-roster spots, even after injury replacements were accounted for.

I like the idea of a lot of turnover. I think if you sign a guy and try coaching him up, you probably get a pretty good idea of who is going to improve and who isn't. The ones who don't seem to be going to the next level should be let go to try some others.

Alridge signed with the Redskins in February.

Thank you I missed that one. We missed that one, IMO.
