Yeah, the lack of photos here has nothing to do with my lack of graphical skillz.
I was actually just thinking the other day of going one big step further, opening a more general discussion forum. I would just limit any and all conversations that started toward a religious or political bent. I'm thinking the new forum might help us stay sane in the offseason. Speaking of the Dynamo, now that this thread has totally derailed, I have become a huge soccer fan. I think Dynamo games are a blast, going again this Saturday in fact. I've also caught onto the EPL, Liverpool specifically. |

I can't do the EPL....I just don't have a dog in that fight. Although I did call my buddy in the UK to cuss him out and blame him for Tony Caig after his first three games post-Onstad. After the loss to Saprissa I haven't been watching as muc, but I will.

Okay, so I broadened the purpose of the Houston sports forum to "Other Sports". Again, I might add another new general talk forum later this summer, we'll see.
I've also created a new site banner and refreshed the main part of the site. Take the link at the bottom to head back out. I'm very much a novice at this stuff, and I sorta lucked into what I have. I think it might work though. |

I'm curious if the bull in your new logo was a closely-cropped longhorn...

I'm guessing you mean the bull in the banner in the forums... yeah, I kinda thought it looked longhorn-ish, too, but it isn't. A forum member helped with that banner (I'd share the username if he said it would be okay to do so?), and it might be recognizable to some in the financial world.
The banner on the front page also features a bull... not sure it is really intelligble given my lack of graphical skills (yeah, I did that banner and it will get updated at some point). Anyway, that bull is part of the "Spirit of the Bull" sculptures outside Reliant Stadium. If I can get some better pictures, maybe I'll use one or more of those bulls in the banners.Anyway, all the banners are in progress, but I have little hesitation in uploading work-in-progress. I kinda enjoy tinkering with this stuff and sharing in the process. |

Keith,
Nice job with the banners, it really dresses up the site. I might have a picture of the bulls in "Bud Plaza." If I have them, I will send them to you.

The one on the front page looks vaguely like a bullfrog with a drainpipe in the back.
Now that I'm running AstrosDaily.com, I've had to dabble in some of this myself and I'm probably less skilled than you are at this. That's why I'm being snarky because I know I'm no better.

As for the one on the front page, that's sort of what drove me to create/propose a new one. Poor little guy looks kinda tired and is going down for a nap. Our Texans should be ready to gore, not nap!
