It still completely blows my mind that the team dicks around for 20 years, finally gets a top-5 quarterback, this is top-5 in a league with the greatest ever and several other Go Straight to Canton types, then, through brutal neckdickery they manage to alienate him to the point where he simply refuses to play for the team anymore. I think that given the rarity of guys who can play qb at a high level in the NFL this whole thing has been under appreciated by most everyone.
So the Texans are going to get three firsts. Outstanding. Say hello to Travis Johnson, Amobi Okoye and Kevin Johnson. |

Since Watson is reportedly meeting with the Cleveland brass today, here is the Browns draft capital over the next 3 years...
Browns 2022 1st (13th overall) 2022 2nd (2) 2022 3rds* (including projected comp pick) (2) 2022 4ths (from DET and their own) 2022 6th (from DAL) 2022 7th (from DET) 2023 - they have all their picks 2024 - they have all their picks Summary - slightly better than the picks the Saints can offer. |

And now the Falcons have entered the group chat.

There's far more discussion of his legal issues in Houston and nationally than there is of the team's having alienated him due to uncontrollable neckery. Yes, of course, everyone knows the team is a joke, but there aren't very many examples of a team's doing this. Maybe none if you exclude Detroit.

Falcons
2022 1st (8th overall) (2) 2022 2nds (TEN's and their own) 2022 3rd 2022 4th 2022 5th (2) 2022 6ths (including comp pick) 2023 - they have all their picks except for their 6th and they have an extra 4th from TEN 2024 - they have all their picks Summary - they can offer more/better picks than the Saints and Browns. |

So, when thinking of draft capital only, this is how I rank the potential teams...
1. Falcons (they have the 8th overall pick and (2) 2nds this year. They also have almost all their future picks. 2. Browns (they have the 13th overall pick and all their future picks.) 3. Panthers (they have the 6th overall pick but all other draft comp would have to come from future years) 4. Saints (they have the 18th overall pick and almost all their future picks) I am not including Seattle in my rankings since they seem to be out. |

As for why Watson's legal issues are discussed more, I would assume it's because he's a relevant NFL QB and we are an irrelevant NFL footnote. |

Just heard from my friend and the Saints are the furthest along. The comp package has been signed off on and they just need Watson to agree to go to NO. Could happen as soon as tomorrow.
