It seems Texans will have , pending further trades, 9 draft picks for 2018 draft.
From loosing 5 Free Agents and picking up none before May 12, Texans should get 4 compensatory picks. Most likely a 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th. Plus we still have a 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th. Then after May 12 , we can possibly pick up veteran FA without affecting comp picks. Sportrac has a good way to check availability by position and status Seems this plan might work out good to possibly pick up help on Oline snd DB and have guys here for most of OTA season. Btw, NFL NETWORK will have a special on Deshaun Watson at 9 central tonight. The special followed D4 throughout draft process. Last edited by Nconroe; 05-02-2017 at 06:23 PM. |

There's been some talk about grouping some of these picks to get back into the 1st or 2nd round next year. Two 3rds to get back into the 2nd round, multiple to get back into the 1st, etc.... Would certainly lessen the sting of losing next year's 1st and 2nd...

or you can bite the bullet and presume next year's offseason will suck.

Texans getting extra picks so maybe can package to move up somewhere in 2018 draft.
Texsns currently have in 2018 Picks rd 3,4,5,6,7 Plus 3 comp picks likely rd 3, and 2 in rd 6 Plus for Duane Brown from Seattle add rd 3, minus rd 5 In 2019 Picks rd 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 Plus for Duane Brown rd 2 from Seattle Right now we need for 2017 a FA OLT and DL. I realize might be trades and free agents, but for now appears Texans will have 3 picks in third and 1 in fourth round of draft.
For those four picks i'm leaning toward 2 for OL and 2 DB. Appears plenty choices and good depth will be available these two positions. https://www.google.com/amp/draftwire...r-week-10/amp/ |

I watched the Senior bowl game and several practices on TV and based upon what I saw of Alex Cappa he will not play tackle for anybody in the NFL this fall because he lacks the athleticism and length. In future years he might be a legit NFL prospect inside at guard or center for somebody, perhaps the Texans. I expect the Texans to bundle one of their 2019 second-round picks with one of their 2018 third-round picks and move up somewhere into the top 40 to 50 picks and select an OT who can help them in 2018. |

I am not sure who was available in this Mock draft, but I have done Mocks where I draft OT Tyrell Crosby at #68 & TE Mike Gesicki at #80.
