@TexansCap says this release will initially give the Texans a savings of $2.8m but will eventually be around $2.3m when the dust settles.
He also says the Texans are in the top 5 in cap space available now. So...my question is this....since they already had a lot of space available (definitely enough for the draft), are they planning something pre-draft and needed the space to do it? Why cut him now? Why not wait and see who you get in a couple of weeks first? I guess it could just be a natural reaction to hypothetical good news about Nick Martin's health? |

Yeah, it would be nice to get ahead of the keep your own good players curve finally.
