Default 2016 Texans at the bye/halfway point

So, they're 5-3 and in control of the AFC South with 4 games left against the other divisional foes (Jags x2, Tits x1, Colts x1).

There's good news and bad news. Watt and K Johnson have gone down, lost for the season. Some have exceeded expectations.... Fido, Bouye.... Some are milk carton players/lack of big plays : Covington, Cushing, not enough B Miller or Strong.....

QB Brock Osweiler is a concern.

The lack of creating turnovers is a concern. The Texans are bottom of the league in forcing fumbles/INT's. Their give away/take away is -7. Only the Jags and Jets are worse.

The remaining schedule looks like this:

Sun, Nov 13 @ Jacksonville 1:00 PM CBS
Mon, Nov 21 @ Oakland (Mexico) 8:30 PM ESPN
Sun, Nov 27 vs San Diego 1:00 PM CBS
Sun, Dec 4 @ Green Bay 1:00 PM CBS
Sun, Dec 11 @ Indianapolis 1:00 PM CBS
Sun, Dec 18 vs Jacksonville 1:00 PM CBS
Sat, Dec 24 vs Cincinnati 8:25 PM NFL
Sun, Jan 1 @ Tennessee 1:00 PM CBS

The Texans are 1-2 in primetime with 2 primetime left to play.

With the exception of the Jacksonville games I can't say I feel that confidant about any of those other games which also means it's not that unlikely we could lose most of them. And only 3 of the last 8 games are at home in NRG.
That last game in Nashville might be really big for both teams in terms of their PO chances.

Totally agree. The Tennessee game is the game they should be resting starters but that might not be the case - they may be in a dogfight.

Sun, Nov 13 @ Jacksonville 1:00 PM CBS - they're an NFL team, any given Sunday, if the Bears can beat the Vikings......
Mon, Nov 21 @ Oakland (Mexico) 8:30 PM ESPN - Derek Carr is a hot QB and might be moving into elite status.... We'll need turnovers, "Good Brock" and defense to win this one...
Sun, Nov 27 vs San Diego 1:00 PM CBS - I've seen most of their games and anytime Rivers is slinging it, they've got a chance...
Sun, Dec 4 @ Green Bay 1:00 PM CBS - Something off with this team this year.... They've got some issues. Still, it's the Packers @ Lambeau. Could be a "get well" game for the Packers....
Sun, Dec 11 @ Indianapolis 1:00 PM CBS - Colts will have revenge on their minds.
Sun, Dec 18 vs Jacksonville 1:00 PM CBS - they're an NFL team, any given Sunday, if the Bears can beat the Vikings......
Sat, Dec 24 vs Cincinnati 8:25 PM NFL - the good news is it's a home game for the Texans, the bad news is Dalton had no problem with that in 2014.
Sun, Jan 1 @ Tennessee 1:00 PM CBS - Will the Titans be in the running for a playoff spot?

I'd be ecstatic with 5-3 but would settle for 4-4 and showing improvement.... Anything less and woe is us.....

With Sunday's results, the Texans have a 1.5-game lead in the AFC South, a game already in hand against both second-place teams head-to-head and the #3 spot in the AFC playoffs. Not bad for a team that is -30 in point differential.

Point spread on the upcoming @Jags game is Texans by 1.5 to pickem. A bit of an eyebrow lifter I'd say, since the Texans are coming off a bye and should be rested up.... Perhaps the Jags earned some cred with the odds makers yesterday in the Chiefs game - a game they could've won if they hadn't lost the turnover battle 4-0....
