I had two thoughts
First seems salary cap already in good shape, And second, may be tough for Cecil to make roster anyways. Seems he has age and experience on his side. |

Eh, he's what, probably a #3 or #4 receiver, now? I'd rather be watching the new/young guys (Fuller, Strong, B Miller) learn on the job..... Shorts had a few nice plays last year but overall, I don't think he really wowed anyone... IIRC, he got injured at one point - something that has become more common in the last few years....

Right-sizing his salary slot. Converted some salary to bonus which ensures Shorts some cash on hand in case he gets cut out of camp.
Also a signal of how weak the NFLPA is compared to other leagues' players unions. |

The Roster should be about 10 spots bigger and there is absolutely no reason for the whole roster to not be active every week. I think it's ridiculous that games are getting decided by which 4th string WR is a better tackler on punt coverage.
There should be room to take a 3rd or 4th WR only and still field a competitive ST unit. |

I agree, the way cap is going up the next three years, and concern for safety/ long term injuries, they should increase full roster size and active roster on game day.
For Shorts, I thought he only got the bonus if he made the active 2016 roster, but perhaps there is a guarantee also? |
