Not that it mattered as far as the outcome, but how the hell the NFL let Hasselbeck back in that game is beyond me. You would think when a guy slams his head on the ground, holds his head like he's just been shot in the ear and then has to leave the game, they would just end his day right then and there.

Hence the moronic throw with the game on the line. Wasn't as bad as the Keenum incident, but the whole concussion spotter things needs work.

Whatevs.....W

1-13.....

Weeden looked OK for the glimpse we got. Really nice to finally win in Indy. Defense looking strong overall.

That pass he threw could have been fair caught. It's embarassing he is on the field there. It is tough to tell who the biggest idiot in Indy is between Irsay/Grigson/Pagano. It's hilarious they had Luck fall in their lap.

Hoyer came back in the game after an obvious concussion and did something equally disastrous. It happens all over the league.

I'm not sold on Luck being a, say, top-8 QB when healthy but we can have that discussion another time.

I really hope the team plays well behind whoever the QB will be and that they go into the playoffs 9-7. That actually wouldn't be so bad. I feel quite certain whover wins the NFC East will have a worse record.

If we're lucky and win out, maybe we'll get even luckier and have the Bengals in the first round. Easy W there as the Bengals always turn into the Bungles in the playoffs.

I'd feel better going into the playoffs with Kirk Cousins under center than any of the four QBs the Texans have used. Heck, I'd feel better with RG3 at QB than the four QBs the Texans have used.

But, oddly enough, if the Texans actually do make the playoffs, they get home field for one game and if that opponent happens to be the Jets or the Broncos, they could even win that one. We've already beaten the Jets once and the Broncos are close to a freefall with no dependable QB of their own to run Kubiak's offense. (There was actually a Shiloh Keo sighting this week in Denver which means Kubes is now recycling our retreads).

And if that first-round victory means a return trip to Cincinnati, well, who's to say we couldn't get Yates to win there another time?

But it all boils down to beating the Titans and Jaguars first and I am betting we choke on one of the two and let the Colts reclaim the division.

Beating the Bengals is getting boring, lacks any real challenge, too automatic. I want some fresh meat, maybe the Broncos.

Totally agree. It's not like he had a serious, season-ending injury. I get that they wanted to hold onto that IR-to-Return card as long as they could in case a critical player went down, but could they have not just held a roster spot open for him? I mean, I'm sure there have been players who have been inactive or have not played a snap all season, and do they really need a 3rd-to-5th backup at DL, LB, S, OL, TE that they couldn't find a waiver wire pick up if need be? It's much easier finding serviceable players (backups) at those position on waivers than a QB. It was a highly questionable move back then, which looks even worse now.

If Yates beats the Bengals in the playoffs this year I'll fly to the US and host a party at the bar of Bob's choosing.

I would rather have Cecil Shorts at quarterback than RGIII and I am not exaggerating. This is obvious but the Texans are not a team that's going to win based on its quarterback play (although it can certainly lose on it) so just get a guy back there who won't do anything too profoundly stupid and let's hope that the defense shows up. By the way, does anyone know when JJ gets the cast off, if ever?

Also, I can't derive any joy out of AJ's misfortune, even if it is the Colts. He is far and away my favorite Texan and I'd hoped he would find some team success at some point. It's difficult to measure just how irresponsible it was for the team to squander a top ten all time great receiver and give him a season and a half of decent quarterback play.

Yates tore his ACL. His playing days for the squad are likely done again.

I know that, hence the promise.

Apparently they don't read NFL injury reports on Morning Edition because Bob's still in the dark on this one.

I saw a great clip of Andre and Hopkins together after the game. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:14408905

The interview itself is worthless but it is awesome to see the joy on Andre's face when he sees Hopkins. I almost wish AJ could come home to work for the organization, but I don't wish that on anyone. Maybe in the future.

Yea that was actually kinda touching. Most reports are that Andre was a true big brother to Hop while they were together here in Houston. I sure hope Hop is named to this years pro bowl when they make the announcments tromorrow night. That too would probably bring a smile and tinge of pride to Andre.

Signing with Indy was like an "up yours" to the organization that employed him for a decade. He's dead to me.

Guess the Texans were a little on the nose too saying Andre was a 40-catch guy this season. Iirc, he's sitting on 34 with two games to play. Plus he still hasn't won in Indy when the Texans were on the field.

In a bit more seriousness, knowingly taking this off-topic which will be its own thread at some point, 2015 has done nothing to improve Andre's HoF credentials. He just moved to 9th all time in yards (again, iirc, too lazy to click around), but this is a player in a crowded position when it comes to the HoF with just a pair of playoff wins. He deserves the HoF even if he never plays another down, but for his sake, I hope he finds a way to go out on his terms.
