Default Well as crappy as the Texans have looked...

...the Colts have looked almost as crappy. Fortunately, and if the Indy OL is trulely as bad as they've looked, the Texans are still in play to win this Division. Probably their only chance to make the playoffs. Win next week and win GM4 against the Colts, and we might be back in the thick of this thing.

Default So

The Jets stroll into Indianapolis with a new head coach and a second string quarterback and handle the Colts with relative ease, something the Texans have never done in their entire putrid existence and may never do in my sad lifetime. I don't think I have to say too much about the Jets' quarterback other than to note sadly that he's better than anyone on the Texans roster at present.

The Colts are terrible. It is some solace to realize that they are run by total imbeciles. But the Texans picked a bad year to suck again. It looks like the division is wide open and from what I have seen of all the divisional rivals the Texans are easily the division's worst team.

Speaking of idiots, the Texans will never, ever amount to anything until they quit going full Beavis on draft day. They trade up for guys in the second round who never play and are cut their second year, they trade up for guys in the third round that can't make game day over an undrafted dude, they whiff on entire years, they release players who go on to be important parts of good teams, they sign has-beens who do nothing (other than add valuable perspective on how bad this team sucks, at least this year), they overpay and extend guys at the wrong times, Cushing, JJo... On and on and on.

I wonder if McNair even watched the game tonight or if he was at the Club playing bridge.

I wonder if he's as ashamed as I am and as all of you should be that the Jets won tonight.

The Colts show how unfair sports are. They throw away the right season and get Luck. Then they do everything wrong for his first 3 years and win 33 regular season games and 3 division titles.

Then their GM and owner gang up on the Coach who won those titles, and they lowball him on his extension offer and go full Harbaugh on him, throwing the team into chaos before the season ever starts. Ryan Tannehill has a huge extension and Luck is still happily playing for what amounts to NFL peanuts.

And yet, next year the Colts will move on from Pagano, give even more power to an idiot like Grigson, and still start the year miles in front of Houston.

Default AFC South Standings After 2 Weeks

(conf record in parentheses)

JAX 1-1 (1-0)
TEN 1-1 (0-1)
HOU 0-2 (0-1)
IND 0-2 (0-2)

Looks upside down, doesn't it?

Wouldn't it be hysterical if Ryan Fitzpatrick becomes some sort of cult hero for the J-E-S-T, Jest Jest, Jest?

I am taking quiet satisfaction that Andre Johnson signed with the Colts, in part, to stick it to the Texans and now the Colts start 0-2. SOMEBODY has to win this division and wouldn't it be amazing if it turned out to be Mariota?
