Default Schaub to start Sunday vs the Broncos

Schaub will start. Phillips said "I know our real fans" will cheer for him & the #Texans. Said Schaub has had a rough year "like all of us." (Keenum injured)

I'm of the opinion that this actually increases our chances of the game being entertaining.

Entertaining losses....

I was indifferent about Sundays game until this announcement, bet now it's not so cut & dried. Oh I'm not predicting victory for the Texans, but I'm intrigued about what we get from Schaub ? Will his long-time offensive line teammates rally around him and produce stellar protection which gives Schaub a chance to play well ? And maybe he plays in a really crappy fashion, or maybe he produces a surprisingly solid performance ? Somehow it makes the game more interesting,
atleast to this Texans' fan.

I guess McNair changed his mind. Just a week ago he was telling everyone that Keenum needed to play so we can see what we have.

Do any of you think that it is the system that caught up with the Texans (and Redskins). I want to believe that the rest of the league has figured us out and that maybe a change in system (like Phillip Rivers) may help Schaub. Just don't see any better options other than being lucky with draft pick. I am not high on Cutler, Flynn etc.

The system was tailored to Schaub and was completely different when Keenum played. Totally different formations and base plays. The problem is talent at the QB position. Schaub can no longer throw the ball downfield so DBs squat on routes. Schaub is less mobile than ever and we stopped using the bootleg much so teams just blitz to where they know he will be. There is not an offense in the league that Schaub can win with.

Keenum has a torn ligament in his thumb while Ben Tate is going on IR so it is Dennis Johnson picking up the blitz on the immobile Schaub. Recipe for disaster? How did you guess?

Texans vs opponent is a recipe for disaster at this point.

When your entire team has given up, I don't think Ben Tate's blitz pickup is the missing ingredient.

I'll bring this back next year when Schaub is a starting NFL QB again, maybe even for the Jags or Titans.

Those teams would need the Redskins' OL from about 1983 to give a guy like Schaub any chance at all. And then they'd need the skill players from Saint Louis from about 1999.

Those GMs better get to work.
