Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has signed a four-year contract extension on a deal that now expires in 2016.
Schaub, already the franchise’s record holder in virtually every passing category, signed an extension for $24.75 million guaranteed, $62 million overall. “I’m very excited to continue to make Houston our home,” Schaub said. “I’m happy to get it so both sides are happy about it.” http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans...act-extension/ |

I guess that ends that discussion. Don't see where either had much choice. I don't think Schaub has the market value of the "elite" QB and I don't think Houston was going to find anyone better to replace him.
What does it say, if anything, that the Texans took care of Brown before they took care of Schaub? |

Seems like a fair deal for Schaub and for Texans.
Keeps good consistency on the team. And congrats to TIm Jamison on his extension as well. Plenty more possible extensions. |

I knew the Texans would keep Schaub provided he didn't get interesting. Jamison getting an extension almost seals this as the last year with the Smith.
