I told you guys. You can call downfield plays but it is still up to the QB whether he pulls the trigger or checks down. Schaub was hitting more big plays than ever this year even if he threw it less overall.

Leinhart has 7 completions today for 32 yards.

MJD for 3. 2nd and 7 coming up.

Gabbert pressured, can't find a receiver and throws it away. 3rd and 7 coming up.

Gabbert is sacked by Barwin! Jags have to punt.

Nice return by JJ, 42 yards! Texans ball at the Jags 26.

Pass to Dreessen goes for the TD! 20 yards.

Texans 14, Jags 10

6:24 left in the half.

Whew, that's a little better....

The guy hasn't played in three years. Give him a little time. That TD throw while not a deep ball was an NFL quality throw.

It was under pressure, too. That was going to be a bootleg it seemed.

Hopefully it gives Leinart the confidence he needs. Surprised there haven't been more short passes designed for Andre called yet. Need to work off his rust too.

It was a great throw. I still think without stretching it vertically we will be in trouble against a good team. I hope we make him stretch it even though we can win without it today.

Barrett, you're one of the more incisive posters around who rarely jumps to conclusions or posts out of emotion. This post is fairly out of character for you. Surprised to see you claiming vindication after basically a quarter and a half. You're better than that.

Foster for 1. Makes it 3rd and 9.

Dump off to Foster loses 2. Texans to try the long FG.

Rackers 53-yarder is good!

Texans 17, Jags 10

4:13 left in the half.

Andre said that Jacksonville is dropping two safeties very deep and that the dump offs over the middle are absolutely open and that they are the correct read and response to what the defense is doing.

He was this guy for his whole NFL and college career. He looks identical now. He's checked it down every time he had a choice. That's not comfort, it's just who he is. Not based on a quarter and a half but based on a career of evidence.

On 3rd and 9 they had 10 guys within 7 yards of the LOS on the snap with one high safety. No fear.

Isn't his whole nfl career something like 17 starts with this being his first in 3 years? That's a pretty small sample size.

Look, you very well may be right and i'm under no illusions that we have the second coming of tom brady. However, let the guy shake some rust off before burying him.

I'm on the T.J. Yates bandwagon. Who's with me?

I wonder if Yates will look downfield. Maybe Casey after Yates goes down.
