I'm going to the game and taking a look at some prospects. NT Kenrick Ellis and OLB Markus White are at the top of my list to watch.

Ok, I will now be willing to draft Kenrick Ellis in the 2nd round. He could not be blocked by a single person and he actually played with a lot of hustle. For a large man, he did not give up on plays and was willing to chase an offensive player to the sideline. Color me impressed.
Jerrell Powe is another big man I can envision playing on Sundays. He was not as well-suited against double-teams, but did get penetration when choosing a gap. He essentially played the 3-Technique in this game. He'd be a good 4th round value in my opinion, but will probably be selected in the 3rd. The OLB prospects I went to see (Wayne Daniels, Ugo Chinasa, Eddie Jones) were not impressive, but I came away with some more homework to do. Roberto Davis of NW Missouri State as did Christian Anthony of Grambling State. I recall promoting a pass-rusher a few years back named Jacob Ford who played at a small school. I could see these guys being in that mold. A project that could become a solid contributor in the pass-rush department. So, they are my "super sleepers" coming from this game. I did like CB Anthony Gaitor's play on defense as well.

After spending the first eleven years of his life in Jamaica, Ellis played mostly soccer until he got near high school. He attended John I. Leonard High School in Greenacres, Florida, where he became an All-State defensive tackle. In his junior year, he had 72 tackles, 16 for loss, and 14 quarterback sacks, while earning Class 6A third-team all-state honors, according to the Florida Sports Writers Association. As a senior, he made 67 tackles, 10 sacks and blocked two kicks despite having the season cut to only eight games as a result of hurricanes. Recruiting analysts of Scout.com described Ellis as South Florida metropolitan area's best defensive tackle prospect since Vince Wilfork.[3] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenrick_Ellis Very interesting prospect. BTW Roy, did you see Wade at the game ? |

No. I saw Corey Chavous and Larry Coker. Wade was at the Shrine Game so it would not surprise me if we drafted one of those guys....
