I've begin to hear from inside sources (not mine) that McNair does indeed plan to keep the staff next year. We'll see if a 5-11 finish and a slew of ticket cancellations changes that thinking.

The guy is clueless when it comes to football. He is making money so in his mind he must be on the right track. Plus the other owners gave him their approval.

I heard (somewhere, can't remember where) that Cowher is being considered for the Texans HC job. They said he had a very good relationship with McNair and likes the organization. He would keep the offense the way it is.

I don't prefer Cowher but I could get behind the decision.

I've wanted the 3-4 anyway. Usually a more aggressive defensive base.

Don't like giving him GM control, as that rarely works out....but....we'll see.

If and & buts were candy and nuts, we would all have a very merry Christmas. I'll believe it when I see it. And I doubt very much that Cower wants to leave all his chums on the pre-game show.

Shoot, I think it's Cowher's people putting all the rumors out there that he is interested in the Texans job.

How does Mario, a prototypical 4-3 defensive end, fit in a 3-4? This is my biggest issue in switching schemes, not coaching just schemes since it seems what talent we do have on defense is suited for the 4-3. A defense resembling Chicago, or the Giants or Vikings (last year anyway) would do just fine. I could be wrong but someone like Cowher concerns me in this regard.
