I agree, I'd rather get blown out than losing the way we did yesterday. That makes it three straight weeks we lose on absolute absurdity. We played well, at least we weren't "complete" no-shows in the first half. Defense played better, at least the front seven. The secondary was just bad as always. I really think its a personnel problem there. It's just a mess. Really sad too. That said, we're only 2 games out of the division. We're not going to win it, but at least it might be compelling going down to that last Jaguars game in Week 17. I guess that's the best to hope for now. |

Growing up in Fresno, there weren't any professional home-town teams. Closest was the Niners/Warriors/Giants/A's, I guess.
Suns - My oldest brother is a Suns fan and I used to watch games with him back in the early 90s. Fell in love with them, their style, their players, etc. Braves - Same bro was a Braves fan, and it was really easy to fall in love with them, being on TBS basically every day and all. Chipper Jones is my favorite athlete in any sport, ever. Texans - Never really had a football team despite following the game every year, loved the logo and the name when they were announced, figured it was a good idea to just jump in with an expansion team. Since I'm from Fresno, when it became apparent that David Carr was going to be the #1 pick, it just sort of got cemented. Sabres - Used to play with them in older hockey video games, didn't get into hockey full-time though until a few years ago. High-octane offense, hockey city, great goaltending, etc. Pretty interesting though that these teams have taken on my personality. I like guys with strong work ethics, values on high character, etc. Unfortunately, bad luck is always a problem with these teams. I can't even begin to count the instances. These teams are pretty similar in that neither of them are teams that always win championships. The only one that has a ring is Atlanta in 1995, and before that it was 1957 when they were in Milwaukee. Once one of these teams wins one, it'll be extra sweet. ....so yeah, there's that story, lol. |

Some how I was thinking Indy had 7 wins, but to realize they and the Jags are at 6-4 and with one more win from one of the last 3 weeks (instead of 3consecutive losses) we are only 1 game out at 5-5 kinda got me stirred-up all over again. This team just can't take advantage of opportunites that are right there within their grasp it would seem ? It's really gonna be frustrating at the end of the season if the only team going to the playoffs from the AFC South is the division winner at 9-7 ?

Someone from the board called in to the Joel Dreesen show on 1560 this morning and referenced the post about punch a hole in the wall. Dreesen is a guy who seemed to take the loss hard.
You know, I think these guys do care. I think they do try.. I just don't think the defense is good enough..

The whole secondary gets the bad rap for the whole defense. But I think if we had that dominating inside (DT) pass rusher, we wouldn't be exposing the secondary so much, and the opposing QB wouldn't have all day to pick a receiver. JMHO

Dreesen SHOULD have taken the Jags loss hard. His two screw-ups were critical to what happened.

Woah, no way, really? LOL. That's pretty cool. What'd they say, "Yeah, some psycho Texans fan from Cali punched his wall out of frustration...what do you gotta say 'bout that!"? LOL. |

Serious. It is on the Podcast for the Dreesen show on 1560, I think about 1/2 way through.. It was great. The caller mentioned how frustrated the fans are.. How these losses are killing us. Dreesen said he sat at his locker after the game fully dressed in his uniform in disbelief. He apologized.. said the team is working hard, practicing hard and want to win. He understands the frustration.
He did not advocate hitting walls, dogs, spouses etc..

Was it the Caribbean guy who said he was going to abuse his kids or something? I think Dreesen (or the host) just said "just punch the wall instead" or something like that, lol. Not a direct reference to me, which is somewhat disappointing yet relieving at the same time, lol.
