It's Official: The Last Original Texan Has Been Cut

Kris Brown has been cut and Neil Rackers is the new placekicker for 2010. Brown and Pitts were the last two original Texans and now both are history.

I've yet to see any other cuts announced but there will be a host of them by the Saturday afternoon deadline. Personally, I think the Texans should consider trading one of their surplus TEs for a RB since we are down to just Foster and Henry that are healthy.

We could also try to swoop in and get Ladell Betts who was supposedly cut by the Saints today. He's not a cut-back runner but he could be a good short yardage option.

RBs Derrick Ward (ex-Buccaneer) and Justin Fargas (ex-Raider) were in town for tryouts today and the Texans are expected to sign Ward.

We should be scouring the Waiver Wire for some DTs. Just my opinion. Right now I only see Damione Lewis and Khalif Mitchell. Boo Robinson was also cut, but I'm not sure he'd be worth going after.

Thursday night he put a ball into the EZ which was too deep to be run back. Surprised me because I thought Brown had a stronger leg ?
But I saw Rackers out kick Brown at one of the open practices this year, and we've now learned that Brown is fighting a case of plantar fascia, so I'm thinking that Kuibak had several reasons to go this way.

Aight, IIRC last year the practice squad list came out Sunday night (24 hrs from the Saturday 3pm deadline) and I expect it will be the same this year....

Perhaps the Texans waited till close to the deadline this year to give teams less time to think about it...
