He's "expanded" his work:
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...t/7107619.html With 15 days remaining until training camp begins July 30, the Texans have six of their nine draft choices under contract. Cornerback Kareem Jackson (first round), running back Ben Tate (second) and tight end Garrett Graham (fourth) are the only unsigned picks. Receiver Dorin Dickerson, the seventh-round pick, agreed to a four-year deal worth $1.85 million on Wednesday. Signing earlier were defensive tackle Earl Mitchell (third), outside linebacker Darryl Sharpton (fourth), cornerback Sherrick McManis (fifth), receiver Trindon Holliday (sixth) and guard Shelley Smith (sixth). |

Yeah, but he's gotta make the final roster to earn that money, doesn't he?

So is the base the full $1.85M or the bonus? Which is which?

That's the full contract value: base + bonus. I don't have the sum of the four base years in front of me, but that amounts to probably $1.79M, leaving the bonus to be something like $71,000.

4 years is a lengthy contract for a 7th round pick, if memory serves. Guess they really do like the kid as much as they say they do.
