Default My Cherry Pick?

Using the teams pick positions, not the original positions but where they ended up selecting, I would have done this:

20 McCourty, Devin CB but I am happy with Jackson
58 Tate, Ben RB remember I am taking the guys at the postion the Texans picked in not where we traded down from
81 Johnson, Mike OG
102 Owusu-Ansah, Akwasi CB Can be a FS or CB
144 Karim, Deji RB
187 Smith, Shelley OG
197 Holliday, Trindon KR
223 Brown, Jarrett QB West Virginia

OK, if I knew who was going to be available when, then I would be able to cherry pick the players I wanted. I am going to assume that the trade downs happened....

20 RB Ben Tate - The RB I wanted all along.
58 OG John Jerry - He may be better than Pitts at LG.
81 DE Daniel Te'o-Nesheim - Improves pass rush and insurance for injuries.
102 CB Alterraun Verner - He is 'game-ready' and productive in college.
118 DT Geno Atkins - Better pass rusher than Mitchell.
144 DT Cam Thomas - Makes Okam expendable, with more upside.
187 RB Jonathan Dwyer - Short yardage and possible FB.
197 S Myron Rolle - Most likely better than Barber.
227 LB Jamar Chaney - Better than Sharpton.

Roy, I heard an interview with Myron's brother on NFLN sometime before the draft and even he thought that Myron was really poor in space and much better in the box. For this reason I am not sure he is what we would need him in our scheme. Otherwise, what's not to like about a physical specimen like him who is a Rhodes Scholar.

I don't think that Rolle would be the solution at FS. Just an upgrade.

Hmm. I'd have to give the nod to Mitchell for now. Atkins' production really dwindled the last two years.

Until I see these draft picks in a game, I will say that it was a perfect draft for what the Texans needed.
