Default Why does McNair want a Thanksgiving night game?

It makes no sense to me.

Like myself, I suspect a lot of Texans season ticket holders have strong affinities for the Texas Longhorns or Texas A&M Aggies. And if forced to choose, I'm staying home and watching that game on TV rather than going to a night game at Reliant Stadium, tempting though that may be.

I just don't understand why an owner would want to put his product up against the single-most anticipated in-state rival college football game in the football-crazy state of Texas.

He hurts his fans.

National exposure. I'd gladly wake up from a tryptophan induced coma and then head out to Reliant to toss the pigskin around and fry up another turkey. The NFL watching crowd will want to see something other than Detroit get crushed again and then the arrogant Cowboys and plastic sam all over the big screen.

I believe the game would be in NY at the new stadium. Not here.

I kinda like the idea. Split screen PIP time!

I like the idea, maybe we could atleast get in a rotation to turkey day games, and help the national exposure as well.

Head to head, the Texans would get smoked. I don't know how married the Horns and Aggies are to Thanksgiving night though. I know the Austin fans hated those 10 a.m. Friday start times (which made no sense) but I worry about drunk driving at night between Austin and College Station (or vice versa). A lot of drinking goes on at that game and the campuses are a tempting few hours difference which is just enough to dismiss how badly a drunk driver can mess up a lot of lives on a state highway with no divider. At least in the daytime, you have a fair chance to take evasive action.
