Default It's Official... Pick #20

Oh well, at least we're not at the top draft and going in the right direction... Can't wait for the day we have the last pick in each round.

I believe they alternate with the Falcons each round thereafter....i.e. Texans pick ahead of the Falcons in the 2nd.....

edit: Actually the Steelers get involved after the 1st round...

Quote:
The Falcons will pick 19th and the Pittsburgh Steelers 18th.

In subsequent rounds, the Texans, Falcons and Steelers will alternate.

The Texans select 19th in the second round, 18th in the third, 20th in the fourth, 19th in the fifth, 18th in the sixth and 20th in the seventh.

The Texans own San Diego's sixth-round pick because of the trade for defensive tackle Travis Johnson.

It depends on if we sign a FA or not and what level that FA is considered. Dunta will be considered a top tier guy this season IMO.

The league has some formula that no one has been able to figure out completely, so that is why the round is not known right now, but my guess is a 3rd or 4th rounder.

First, this would be a pick in 2011. Then it would depend upon how big of a contract Robinson signs elsewhere and whether the Texans signed an outside free agent this offseason of relative value.

It does indicate to me that had the Texans explored the idea to tag Robinson in order to trade him (as I thought might have been a distinct possibility in the D-Rob thread), that they probably weren't getting feedback from other teams that they would be willing to give up a third or maybe even a fourth for him.

For more info on compensatory picks, I started a 2010 compensatory picks thread with a link in it that has a lot more detailed info.
